To obtain a marriage license in Colorado, both parties must appear in person at a clerk/recorder’s office in any Colorado county. In Denver, you can fill out some of your license details online before going to the local recorder’s office. Birthplace information for the parents of both parties must be provided. Fees vary by county; the fee in Denver is $30, cash or credit cards are accepted. State-issued driver’s licenses or IDs, military IDs, or passports are required for identification. Note: birth certificates are NOT acceptable forms of identification in Colorado. Social Security numbers must be provided as well. No blood tests are required and there is no waiting period. Colorado marriage licenses must be solemnized within 35 days from the date of issue.
